Undergraduate Admissions

Southwest University (SWU) is a Ministry of Education-affiliated Project 211 and Double First-Class university in Chongqing, formed in 2005 from the merger of Southwest China Normal University and Southwest Agricultural University. Its main campus is in Beibei, with a second campus in Rongchang, and it is strongest in education, psychology, agronomy, animal science, sericulture, food science and chemistry. For the 2026/2027 academic year SWU publishes 47 Chinese-taught and 5 English-taught bachelor's majors for international students, and every applicant must submit a valid CSCA transcript. SWU states the CSCA requirement but does not publish a per-major subject table, so the subject combinations below follow the CSCA discipline rule — humanities, social-science, law and arts majors sit Humanities Chinese plus Mathematics; engineering majors add Physics; science, agriculture, food and pharmacy majors add Chemistry; English-taught applicants do not sit the Professional Chinese paper. Confirm the exact combination with the admissions office before you apply.
